Online real estate investment platform AssetAvenue has named Douglas Sellers Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will be responsible for directing technology initiatives and creating the roadmap for launching new products and features.

AssetAvenue co-founder and CEO David Manshoory believes Mr. Sellers offers a unique skill set, saying his combination of technical expertise and entrepreneurial spirit are a perfect fit for the platform.

The timing is also good.

“(Mr. Sellers) arrives at a crucial period during the company’s growth,” Mr. Manshoory added. “He will be instrumental in helping the company scale its underwriting capabilities and loan volume with the use of technology to streamline the current lending process while creating a better experience for borrowers and brokers to get a loan.”

Mr. Sellers joins AssetAvenue from mobile wellness coach Kumu Wellness, where he was also CTO. He was also CTO for visual bug tracker Redline.cc and altruistic social network GOOD Worldwide. He believes he is a good fit for AssetAvenue.

“AssetAvenue has quickly distinguished itself as an alternative solution to traditional banking, with its technology-enabled lending platform and innovative loan products and services such as pre-qualified automated pricing and an instant rate table offered to qualified borrowers,” added Mr. Sellers. “The company is leveraging technology to improve upon a traditionally slow lending process, which fits perfectly with my expertise and passion for using technology to tackle existing business problems while creating new business opportunities.”

Mr. Sellers has a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in Blacksburg, VA.
