Fintech company SelfScore has hired Vinni Bala as Chief Marketing Officer. Based in Palo Alto, CA, Mr. Bala will lead SelfScore’s marketing strategy, programs, branding and overall positioning.
Using alternative metrics and data, SelfScore offers a MasterCard for international candidates.
Mr. Bala brings almost two decades of experience in advertising, consumer marketing and banking. He joins SelfScore from Wells Fargo Bank where he was Head of College and Secured Credit Cards. He also led direct marketing for Wells Fargo’s Student Lending Division and worked for Citigroup.
“As a first-generation Indian American, I relate to the struggles of the international student population and I commend SelfScore’s mission to open the doors of the U.S. financial system to the underserved,” Mr. Bala said. “Credit can be empowering and everyone should have access to it, especially when these individuals have taken a huge personal risk by immigrating to the United States for college.”
