Legion M partners with independent theatre and distribution chain

Fan-owned entertainment company Legion M has formed a partnership with Alamo Drafthouse which will produce an additional distribution channel for genre content.

Alamo Drafthouse provides Legion M with an additional access point to the film industry via exhibitions, festivals and distribution. They will provide Legion M with scripts projects and talent. In return Legion M offers dedicated fan bases.

Alamo Drafthouse assumes a position on Legion M’s advisory board. Joshua Oppenheimer’s Oscar nominated The Act of Killing is among Alamo Drafthouse’s latest projects (through Drafthouse fIlms, its distribution arm). Bullhead and The Look of Silence are other Oscar-nominated films with Alamo involvement.

“We created Legion M to connect filmmakers and creators with the most vital components to the creative process: funding and fans,” Legion M CEO and co-founder Paul Scanlan said. “Alamo Drafthouse strengthens our expertise in film while adding the critical third component of the process, distribution. We are bringing fans, creators, funding, and now distribution together to reinvent the production and distribution paradigm.”
