Lending Club CEO Renaud Laplanche will deliver the Keynote address at the second annual Lendit conference taking place at the Hilton Union Square in San Francisco on between May 4 and May 6.
Delivering a keynote along with Mr. Laplanche will be one-time Bill Clinton adviser Michael Barr. Mr. Barr is a former Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Treasury and played a vital role in the creation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
Following the Laplanche keynote the morning of May 5, attendees will hear a 20-minute global market analysis overview before a series of panel discussions take over the agenda.
Leading crowdfinance platforms along with small and short-term business lending are on the morning slate while student loans, platform innovation, real estate, institutional investing and personal finance fill out the afternoon schedule.
The Barr speech kicks off the Tuesday schedule before the day adopts an international flavor as European consumer P2P’s and crowdfinance in China are discussed by panels. The rest of the morning looks at regulation, and features panels on venture capital and technology sandwiched around a presentation on the evaluation of non-bank lenders.
Following lunch and the presentation of Lendit’s Innovator of the Year Award, the focus turns to credit. A big data panel discusses the use of alternative data in credit decision-making following which underwriting trends are the focus.
The conference ends with a presentation on disruption and panel discussions on securitization and emerging prime.
