Peer-to-peer solar finance company Mosaic added some valuable experience with the hiring of COO Bruce Ledesma.
Mr. Ledesma is charged with scaling operations to meet the needs of an increasing number of investors, borrowers and installers. His seven years with solar power provider SunPower should serve him well. During that time he worked on business development and mergers and acquisitions, helping to contribute to a ten-fold increase in revenue up to $2.5 billion.
Prior to joining SunPower, Mr. Ledesma served as an Executive Vice President of Barra Corporation with duties that included at various times General Counsel and head of corporate development. He oversaw Barra’s 50 percent stake in Symphony Asset Management and several initiatives to provide different investment management tools and services.
“Bruce has demonstrated outstanding leadership in larger companies within the financial services and solar industries,” said Dan Rosen, Mosaic co-founder and CEO. “He has extensive knowledge and talent to scale Mosaic’s next growth cycle servicing home solar loans and crowdsourcing capital to finance them. We’re thrilled to have Bruce join Mosaic’s executive team.”
His work with pre-IPO businesses was another reason cited for his hire.
Mr. Ledesma has a B.A. in economics from Stanford and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He spent just over four years at Latham and Watkins upon graduation from Harvard.
