Blue Elephant hires Quantitative Strategy director

Marketplace lender Blue Elephant Capital Management has named Jason Herman its Director of Quantitative Strategy. The former head of Americas Investments at Marshall Wace, Mr. Herman is charged with building out Blue Elephant’s quantitative  credit models.

In a release Blue Elephant said a key part of its growth strategy is to build quantitative strategies and leverage nontraditional data sets.

Blue Elephant managing partner J.P. Marra explained why he hired Mr. Herman.

“His deep expertise developing systematic investment strategies around alpha, risk, and optimization will become especially important as lending markets mature through evolving business cycles. Jason’s quantitative skill set and background in equities complements the strong macro fixed-income background of our current team.”

Mr. Herman looks forward to contributing to Blue Elephant’s growth.

“By blending my statistical bottoms-up modeling with the team’s top-down macro views, we will drive the innovation and outperformance over the cycles as our clients expect.”
