Digital money transfer service WorldRemit is partnering with Express Union to provide more than 700 money transfer pickup locations in Cameroon.
The funds will be available at Express Union locations throughout the country.
According to the World Bank, the $244 million in remittances received in Cameroon is more than doublet amount from 2010.
“Adding hundreds of new cash pick up locations to our Cameroon corridor translates into improved service, better choice and more convenience for our customers and their families,” WorldRemit cofounder and executive director Catherine Wines said. “World Remit remains committed to secure and instant money transfers tapping into the unrivaled local knowledge and operational excellence of trusted partners like Express Union.”
Increased convenience is important for the people of Cameroon, Express Union general manager Charès Nghoguo explained.
“The partnership with WorldRemit is geared towards providing an additional means of connecting Cameroonian migrants to their relatives back in the country and local economic actors to foreign ones.”
