Southeast Asian payments company 2C2P has announced 320,000 offline payment locations for ‘123,’ an alternative payment service which allows people to pay with cash or other methods.
When checking out online, consumers paying with 123 receive a barcode which can be printed out or scanned from a mobile device. They then pay at a 2C2P channel partner which could be an OTC, ATM, electronic kiosk, internet banks or mobile bank.
“2C2P has made extensive efforts to open up Myanmar’s unbanked population to e-commerce,” 2C2P founder and CEO Aung Kyaw Moe said. “As the country continues to see increased mobile penetration, rising urbanization and improved consumer spending, there is an urgent need to modernize its e-commerce and payments infrastructure.”
