Biometrics-based authentication technology provider Veridium has named former HSBC, JPMorgan Chase and Cisco executive James Stickland its new CEO.
Mr. Stickland was most recently with U.K. fintech Red Deer Systems.
Based in London, Mr. Stickland will focus on strategy, revenue and investment growth. Veridium looks to tap into his experience in both the financial and tech startup sectors.
“Passwords are dead and can no longer be relied on to safeguard companies from the threat of fraud and data breaches,” Mr. Stickland said. “Biometrics are now a valid replacement for these authentication efforts. There is an incredible void for a biometric authentication offering that can be adopted on a widespread basis across an enterprise, remain cost-effective and eliminate the major security concerns.”
