MoneyOnMobile strikes deal with Indian power distributor

Global mobile payments technology and processing company MoneyOnMobile has struck a deal with an Indian power distributor which allows the latter’s customers to pay their electricity bills through MoneyOnMobile’s mobile app or at one of its 325,000 retailers.

BSES Rajdhani Power Limited distributes power to more than 2.2 million customers across a 750 square kilometer area.

“Many consumers in India pay their bills in cash,” MoneyOnMobile CEO Harold Montgomery said. “We offer them a solution so that they can make payments at a convenient retail outlet or through our mobile wallet.”
