Banco Santander has appointed Lindsey Argalas as chief digital and innovation officer. She is charged with developing a digital strategy, supporting innovation throughout the organization, and promoting collaboration across Santander’s businesses and markets.
Ms. Argalas was most recently with Intuit where she spent nine years in senior positions including senior vice president and chief of staff to the CEO. In that role she oversaw company-wide initiatives that transformed Intuit into a global, cloud-driven product and platform company, and was based at different points in San Francisco, Singapore, Paris and São Paulo. Prior to joining Intuit Ms. Argalas was a principal at Boston Consulting for a decade and worked in Europe, Australia and across the United States advising global consumer and retail brands on growth strategies and customer-driven innovation.
A graduate of Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management (MBA), Georgetown (MSc in international business diplomacy) and Duke (bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and international affairs), Ms. Argalas assumes her duties Sept. 1 in Madrid where she reports to executive chairman Ana Botín.
“The investment and progress we are making in digital is a critically important part of our strategy, allowing us to reach more customers with better, faster and more efficient services,” Ms. Botin said. “I am delighted to appoint someone of Lindsey’s calibre to this important role.”
