Real estate investing platform PeerStreet has named Louis Nees its head of capital markets.
Mr. Nees, who will be charged with leading the capital markets team that liaises with investors, will be based out of Los Angeles.
PeerStreet wishes to diversify its capital base as it grows, and Mr. Nees is expected to play a key role in accomplishing that goal. He has more than three decades of experience, including CEO responsibilities at Fairlead Management and Walter Capital Opportunity, senior vice presidencies with GMAC Mortgage and Ally Financial and a stint as managing director of JP Morgan’s mortgage credit derivative trading desk.
“We’re delighted to have Louis join our team,” PeerStreet CEO Brew Johnson said. “PeerStreet has been experiencing tremendous growth and is quickly expanding our investor base and product offering — we look forward to Louis’ deep expertise as we hit new milestones.
“Louis will be important in helping PeerStreet transact with an increasingly large pool of customer types.”
“PeerStreet offers a truly unique platform in the real estate investing space,” Mr. Nees said. “There are enormous opportunities to build out our capital markets to help PeerStreet achieve its goals and I am very much looking forward to leveraging those opportunities to support our growth and reach.”
