Centana Growth Partners adds to senior ranks

Growth equity firm Centana Growth Partners have hired Tom Davis as principal and Matthew Alfieri as vice president.

Mr. Davis was most recently with General Atlantic where his focus was on investments in financial services. The former Morgan Stanley investment banker has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“Centana’s focus on accelerating the growth of financial services and related enterprise software companies has yielded an impressive portfolio in the early days of the fund,” Mr. Davis said.

“As secular changes in regulation and consumer expectations reshape the financial services landscape, I am excited to work with our network of executives and industry influencers to identify and partner with management teams who are at the forefront of innovation in the industry.”

Mr. Alfieri spent the last nine years at Goldman Sachs, leaving as the vice president of the Principal Strategic Investments team. He earned a BA in Business Administration from the Financial Analyst Honors Program at the University at Albany.

“Centana has the unique combination of industry experience and flexibility to find deals which are often missed due to exuberance in overhyped subsectors of the financial services ecosystem,” Mr. Alfieri said.

“The firm has already seen significant support from our limited partners, and I look forward to helping them invest in this exciting space.”

“Tom and Matt are strategic hires for Centana, as we look to deploy additional capital and continue to build an institutional investing platform,” said Eric Byunn, Centana Partner and Co-founder.

“With over two decades of combined experience investing in companies within financial services and related technology, the particular expertise they have falls right in line with Centana’s focus.”
