Investment science and technology firm 55 Institutional Partners has named Dr. Leonid Kogan chief investment scientist.
Dr. Kogan, who was a firm research partner and leader of its proprietary tax optimization technology, will now lead 55 Institutional Partners’ research team and the development of its science and technology capabilities.
Dr. Kogan is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone professor of management and professor of finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management. HIs research focuses on capital markets and has appeared in several prominent journals. It has won him awards including the Cromwell Memorial Prize, Whitebox Advisors Award and the Amundi Smith Breeden Prize. Dr. Kogan earned a Master’s degree from Moscow State University and PH.Ds from Cornell and MIT.
