If you’re looking to sell your car, you may think that it’s going to be as simple as listing it online, having a few people come round to see it, and then taking the best price that you’re offered.

However, unfortunately selling a car is not as simple as many people believe it to be, and if you’re looking for a fast sale, then it could prove quite stressful if you’re not able to sell it as quick as you thought, so in this post we’re going to share with you some of our simple tips for selling your car online quickly.

Have all paperwork to hand:

If you’re selling your car, you need to have all of your paperwork to hand to show any potential buyers. It’s against the law to not have this available when selling your car, so if you want to sell quickly, then you need to be as organised as possible and have it ready for when people come over, so that if someone is interested in buying right away, then the process can go as smoothly as possible.

Get a full safety check:

When it comes to a car, safety is of the highest priority, so making sure that your car is safe for the road before selling it is going to be a huge weight off of someone’s mind before they decide to buy it, and this can make it a lot easier for them to make a decision when buying it if they don’t have to have to get the safety check carried out themselves.

Go through a dealer:

One of the easiest ways to tell your car quickly is to go through a reputable dealer. You may get slightly less for your car than if you’re selling it privately, but dealers are experts at selling cars, so this can take a lot of the work away from you and make the process much easier.

When looking for a dealer to sell your car through, then make sure that they come highly recommended, that they have motor trade insurance and that they are reputable and won’t be looking to rip you off.

Give it a good clean:

First impressions count for a lot, so if you want someone to buy your car, then you’ll want it presented in the best possible way. This means tidying it of any clutter and making sure it’s cleaned both on the inside and the outside before showing it to anyone. You could also look for car storage to ensure it’s in perfect condition when you show people around it.

This gives a good impression of how the car has been maintained and looked after over the years, plus it just makes it easier for people who want to buy right away and possibly drive the car away the same day.

Be willing to negotiate:

If you’re looking for a fast sale, then  you may need to go down with your price slightly. You shouldn’t go down more than you’re comfortable with and allow people to take advantage of you,  it is important to be realistic and be able to adapt your prices and be a little flexible.
