  • AVAX price trades near $6.10, down 96% from its 2021 peak and 50% YTD.
  • Avalanche Payments Collective launched with 28 firms, including VanEck.
  • Falling wedge nears $5.85 support; ADX above 54 confirms strong downtrend.
  • Avalanche Treasury stock fell 38% day one, 81% over five days.

Avalanche (AVAX) keeps shipping institutional infrastructure, and the market keeps selling. On Friday, June 19, AVAX coin traded around $6.10, down 8.43% for the day and among the largest large-cap losers, even as the network announced one of crypto’s largest payment partnerships.

The Avalanche coin price now sits at a five-year low, down roughly 50% year-to-date, 66% over twelve months, and about 96% from its 2021 high. The disconnect between adoption and price has rarely looked this wide.

On June 18, Avalanche launched the Payments Collective, a group of 28 members including Franklin Templeton, VanEck, Paxos, and Kraken. These members already move money in 150 countries, 96 currencies, and about 22 billion payout endpoints. Axiym alone has processed over $1.4 billion on the network.

The goal is to make AVAX the main settlement and staking token for large institutional transactions. Ava Labs Chief Business Officer John Nahas described the collective as evidence that global payments will rely on connected ecosystems in the future.

At the same time, Avalanche is running FIFA’s anti-scalping ticketing for the 2026 World Cup, with two tradable assets already reaching over $25 million in secondary sales. Still, this has not stopped the Avalanche price from falling.

Avalanche Adoption Builds While the Treasury Trade Collapses

The Avalanche Treasury further shows that forced buying is not enough to support the market. This Nasdaq-listed fund went public on June 12, aiming to buy over $1 billion in AVAX, but the AVAT stock dropped 38% on the first day and is down 81% after five days.

With just $2.1 million in quarterly revenue against a $26.8 million net loss, it has little cushion, and the parallel TRON Treasury stock is down 56% since listing. When the buyer of last resort is itself in free fall, the bid under AVAX looks thin.

Trading volume shows the same trend. In the last 24 hours, $373 million changed hands, up 16%. But with a $2.64 billion market cap, this looks more like selling than buying.

Falling Wedge Keeps AVAX Price Pinned Near $6

The Avalanche price technical analysis helps explain the timing. AVAX has been in a falling wedge for 9 months, a pattern that often leads to a rebound when selling slows.

On the daily chart, the RSI is near 24, showing the coin is extremely oversold. However, the ADX is above 54, which means the downtrend is not only continuing but getting stronger. In this case, being oversold does not matter much as long as the trend remains strong.

The wedge floor at $5.85 is the line in the sand, and a break below it invalidates the bullish setup. If the Avalanche price moves back above $6.60, buyers may step in. Only a daily close above $8.70 would confirm a breakout, with possible targets at $10, $12, and $15.

At the moment, Avalanche price predictions remain bearish until a breakout happens. With AVAX down more than 80% from its 2025 highs, chartists are not arguing. One well-known analyst calls the token “no-man’s land,” with price targets near $3.32. Another analyst’s Elliott Wave analysis suggests the price could fall toward $4.72 or lower.
