Celestia (TIA) is showing little price action on the surface, but high volatility is brewing beneath the surface. The TIA token recently changed hands near $0.38, marking a minor 1.68% gain over 24 hours. Trading remained locked in a tight $0.38 to $0.41 range, keeping the asset boxed in, while spot market volume slowed to $56.37 million.

However, the crypto derivatives market tells a completely different story. Traders are aggressively biased toward the upside. CoinGlass data reveals an aggregate long/short ratio of 1.12. Account-level data shows an even heavier bullish skew: 1.73 on Binance, 1.54 on OKX, and 1.96 among Binance’s top-trader accounts. Across almost every metric, retail and institutional players are heavily backing a bullish breakout.

Recent liquidation numbers prove that this aggressive positioning is missing the mark. Over the last 24 hours, overleveraged long positions absorbed most of the market wipeouts. Out of $300,000 in total liquidations, longs suffered nearly $197,000 in losses, while short liquidations barely crossed $103,000.

A market with this many buyers should not be losing capital so consistently. Instead, the chart reflects a frustrating consolidation pattern that repeatedly spikes higher, fails to hold, and traps late buyers. This ongoing flush is draining overall conviction. Derivatives volume fell over 13% to $117.84 million, while open interest remained flat at $45.58 million.

Moving Averages Reveal Key Hurdles for Celestia Price Predictions

Technical indicators confirm this ongoing market standoff. Short-term moving averages suggest a temporary buying window, clustering tightly between $0.35 and $0.38. The Ichimoku base also sits neutral at $0.36.

The longer-term outlook demands heavy caution. The 50-day simple moving average (SMA) rests right above current prices at $0.39, while the 100-period exponential moving average (EMA) sits at $0.39. More importantly, the critical 200-period EMA looms far above at $0.55, acting as a major resistance level and the true ceiling for any near-term trend reversal.

This technical congestion has divided top analysts into two distinct camps. Bullish commentators view the current structure as a clean accumulation phase, arguing that TIA has successfully defended key demand floors and is ready to retest the $0.55 resistance zone. Bearish analysts see the exact same setup as a descending triangle breakdown, warning that repeated failures to clear overhead resistance will push the token toward lower-liquidity zones.

With liquidation data heavily favoring the bears, buyers must actively defend the immediate $0.38 floor. Until Celestia price convincingly breaks above $0.55, the token will likely remain stuck in this liquidation trap.
