BitMine, a major holder of Ethereum, says its BMNR stock will be added to the Russell 1000 Index on June 26. The company also reports a fast‑growing staking position that now covers most of its ETH holdings.

BitMine’s Balance Sheet and Index Move

BitMine describes itself as the largest Ethereum treasury company, focusing on holding and staking ETH for yield. As of June 22, it reported holding 5.673 million ETH, along with about $601 million in cash and marketable securities. It also reports 350 million dollars in preferred BMNP, no debt on its balance sheet, and an annualized staking yield of roughly 233 million dollars.

The company says BMNR will be added to the Russell 1000, one of the main U.S. large‑cap equity benchmarks, on June 26. Inclusion in that index typically brings fresh demand from funds that track it and can increase liquidity in the stock. BitMine frames the move as recognition of its size and its strategy of using Ethereum as a core treasury asset.

Staked ETH Passes 4.88 Million

BitMine has continued to push more of its ETH into staking. The firm recently staked another 160,480 ETH, which it values at about $248.7 million. With that latest move, it says its total staked ETH has reached 4.88 million.

At current prices, BitMine estimates its staked position at about $7.56 billion. It also calculates that staking now covers roughly 86% of its overall ETH holdings, turning most of its treasury into an income‑generating asset.

BitMine has committed a large share of its balance sheet to staking. This decision ties its business closely to Ethereum’s long‑term health. It also links the company to validator rewards over time.

The reported $233 million in annualized staking yield provides BitMine with a major stream of on‑chain income. That revenue comes on top of any gains in Ethereum’s market price.

Entry into the Russell 1000 could make BitMine more visible to traditional investors. Many of those investors prefer index‑linked stocks instead of direct crypto exposure.

Together, a large staked ETH position and index inclusion may reshape how markets view BitMine. The company could become one of the main public proxies for Ethereum’s validator economy.
