American cable sports company ESPN has teamed up with Autograph, a non-fungible token (NFT) platform co-founded by NFT star Tom Brady, to launch its first-ever NFT collection. Autograph unveiled this news through a press release earlier today. The collection is based on Man in the Arena: Tom Brady, an ESPN+ documentary series produced by Religion of Sports.

According to the news release, ESPN worked with Autograph and Religion of Sports on the Man in the Arena: Tom Brady collection, which drops later today. The collection is currently available for viewing on Autograph.io. Interested collectors will be able to purchase the NFTs through the DraftKings marketplace, Autograph’s exclusive marketplace partner.

Notably, the collection’s launch coincides with ESPN's decision to avail the Tom Brady: Man in the Arena docuseries to a broader fan base, including the entire Disney Bundle – ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+ for a limited time.

Commenting on ESPN’s foray into the NFT world, Autograph co-founder and CEO Dillon Rosenblatt said,

This unique collection around Tom's 'Man in the Arena' docuseries marks the beginning of our relationship with ESPN. As the first NFT partner for ESPN, the possibilities across sports and technology are endless, and we couldn't be more excited to get this content out to the world in a massive way.

Brady will sign 50 NFTs digitally

The Man in the Arena: Tom Brady collection will comprise three ESPN magazine cover-style NFTs displaying Brady’s career, wins, and achievements. All three editions will be minted on Polygon, an Ethereum sidechain scaling solution.

The first edition features 250 NFTs, going for $100 each, and the second edition comprises 100 pieces, going for $250 each. The third edition has 50 NFTs that Brady has signed digitally. Each of the Brady signed pieces will go for $500.

ESPN and Autograph also plan to launch a second Brady-inspired collection named Back in the Arena. This collection will drop alongside the 10th episode of the Man in the Arena: Tom Brady docuseries.

Kevin Lopes, the Vice President of Sports Business Development & Innovation at ESPN, said,

ESPN is excited to offer our first NFTs to meet our fans at the intersection of sports, technology and content.

He added that ESPN is delighted to partner with Autograph on this collection and others in the future.
