Metacade is a new project that is setting out to create a Web3 community hub for gamers with the project awaiting its token presale in Q4. The project has a varied roadmap and will offer a vibrant destination for developers and gamers alike. Solana (SOL) and Tezos (XTZ) are two other projects that offer versatility and in this article, we’ll look at how all three projects stack up.

What is Metacade?

Metacade is launching an ecosystem for gamers, developers, and entrepreneurs to meet and hang out. Developers and gamers will help to build the world’s first community-led play to earn arcade on the road to the project becoming a leading Game-Fi destination.

A large part of the ecosystem will involve development with the project planning to hand out MetaGrants to the best game ideas, and gamers can test and review games for the arcade. The native MCADE token can be staked to earn a share of project royalties, but it can also be used to enter prize draws, gaming tournaments, and votes on governance issues.

Solana Promised the World but Ran Into Problems

Solana (SOL) burst onto the crypto mainstream in 2020 with a rally bring the price to $250 per coin. However, the project hit some problems with hacks and bugs in the network that started a decline in price and the coin has never fully recovered.

Solana first emerged as a competitor to Ethereum (ETH) and, with a mix of proof of history and proof of stake, the project had much faster transaction speeds than ETH. Solana soon emerged as a destination for minting NFTs and was accepted on OpenSea as one of the key launchpads for non-fungibles. A bear market in the NFT marketplace hit SOL further. Despite the recent woes, Solana still continues to embrace new avenues and the project is positioning for expansion to mobile, with the Solana Saga smartphone due in early 2023.

Tezos Offers Great Technology but Less Focus

Tezos (XTZ) has been around longer than Solana and is another versatile project. Tezos is an open-source platform for assets and applications that evolves by upgrading itself. The network was built with the same proof of stake technology that was the goal of the Ethereum Merge. Tezos also excels in governance and security for a well-rounded blockchain.

Tezos offers smart contracts for building apps on the platform that cannot be shut down by third parties. The platform has also signed many partnerships along with the likes of Mclaren F1 racing, esports giant Vitality, and international football giant Manchester United. Although the project is positioning for Web3.0 it is pitching itself in many directions and that may affect its potential.

How Does Metacade Compare?

Metacade wants to embrace the play to earn model that was huge in the crypto industry last year. Gamers flocked to titles like Axie Infinity to earn rewards and NFTs which were worth a fortune in the bull market. Metacade has the oppurtunity to bring a large community to the platform by offering a real roadmap for a community-driven hub.

With a share of revenues on offer through staking and grants available to the best game ideas, there is a genuine incentive for game creators to build on the platform. Alongside that, there will be opportunities for gamers to test games and get involved in tournaments for prizes. Solana and Tezos offer good technology for developers but lack a true focus and the fun of the Metacade project. And we think that that will be the real difference in the end.

Conclusion

Solana (SOL) and Tezos (XTZ) are two projects that have tried to do something completely new in the crypto space. Solana is launching its own developer package for smartphones, while Tezos offers thier take on a decentralised governance model and a destination for developers to build apps. In terms of their future expansion possibilities, however – they both present as somewhat limited. Trying to directly compete with huge incumbents, such as Apple, typically leads to a lot of headaches.

By producing a platform which is primarily focused on gaming, Metacade can leverage the benefits of a larger potential audience. Its community-driven approach, involving both end-users and game developers is a genuinely unique feature which hasn’t been seen before. Alongside its pay to play and pay to earn revenue streams – the platform offers a clear advantage in terms of community loyalty, and therefore long-term growth – which leads us to consider it one to watch.
