Lending Club has hired Sandeep Bhandari as its Chief Credit Officer, effective Aug. 24.
Mr. Bhandari, most recently Assistant Chief Credit Officer at Capital One Bank and a Venture Partner at Capital One Ventures, replaces Lending Club’s retiring Chief Risk Officer Chaomei Chen, who is retiring in December. Ms. Chen will work with Mr. Bhandari through the end of the year.

Mr. Bhandari held a variety of roles at Capital One, including strategy development, credit risk management, marketing, product development, and underwriting expertise across consumer and small business credit cards, auto loans, mortgages and home equity loans. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.
