SIX Group, the operator of the Swiss and Spanish stock exchanges, is now streaming equity market data directly to blockchains using Chainlink. The integration makes data from the SIX Swiss Exchange and the BME Exchange available on-chain via Chainlink’s DataLink service.
The feeds include Swiss and Spanish stocks with a combined market value of about €2 trillion. More than 2,600 applications on more than 75 public and private blockchains inside the Chainlink ecosystem can now use this data. According to SIX, this is the first large-scale publication of standardized on-chain data from its main equity markets.
The move extends SIX’s push into digital market infrastructure, alongside its existing SIX Digital Exchange platform for tokenized assets. By using Chainlink, it can distribute regulated price data without building a separate oracle network from scratch.
How SIX Uses Chainlink DataLink to Publish Stock Data
SIX is using Chainlink’s institutional‑grade DataLink standard to push equity data to blockchain networks. DataLink defines how trusted providers publish feeds in a secure, verifiable way that smart contracts can read. Chainlink nodes then relay these feeds to supported blockchains.
Through this setup, developers can query on-chain price and reference data for Swiss and Spanish stocks inside their smart contracts. The feeds are designed for use cases such as tokenized indices, structured products, compliant DeFi, and prediction markets that require reliable off‑chain data. SIX stresses that the integration maintains its usual data controls and entitlements for regulated users.
Chainlink says DataLink provides providers like SIX with a scalable way to commercialize premium market data across multiple chains simultaneously. The same infrastructure already carries data from traditional finance names such as Deutsche Börse, FTSE Russell, and S&P Global, as well as major crypto venues.
Why Onchain Stock Data Matters for Tokenization and DeFi
Bringing regulated equity data on-chain is a key step for real‑world asset (RWA) tokenization. Tokenized stock baskets, yield notes, and structured products all need accurate prices from primary exchanges. Direct feeds from SIX reduce reliance on web scrapes or unverified aggregators.
For DeFi builders, native access to Swiss and Spanish equity data opens up new strategy design options. Protocols can build products that track or hedge European blue‑chip stocks while settling on-chain. Prediction markets and options platforms can also reference official closing prices for settlement.
