Injective price surged 6.6% on Saturday morning, with INJ touching $7 intraday, its highest level since November 2025. Reclaiming the $6.15 resistance that had repeatedly capped buyers flips the near-term structure bullish, and the token cleared the $6 line it had not held all year.
The main reason for this move is that Binance US is starting Injective staking. Technical indicators also point to a possible longer-lasting change, not just a quick spike.
Injective Price Holds $6.15 as Open Interest Surges 32%
Injective (INJ) broke past $6.15 over the weekend, a level that had previously blocked buyers, and this time it stayed above, currently trading at $6.60. CoinGlass reports open interest jumped 32.3% to around $157 million, while $1.36 million in short positions were liquidated. These forced exits pushed the price even higher.
Looking at all the weekly moving averages, the signals are mixed. The price is above the 10-, 20-, and 30-period averages, which now signal a buy. But the 50 and 100-period averages are still above the market and signal selling, while the Ichimoku baseline is neutral. This means short-term momentum is up, but the medium-term trend is just starting to recover. Buyers have regained some ground, but not reversed the whole decline.
Technical analyst Javon Marks offered a longer-term view. He noted that INJ’s macro MACD is showing a bullish crossover and is holding steady. The last time this happened, the token rose about 37 times. He thinks the strong reaction now could mean prices are just starting to rise, saying “another huge move in response could be in the works.”
While the 37x price prediction is for the long term, INJ is already showing strong gains. It is up 25% this week, 86% this month, 13% over six months, and 55% for the year so far. Still, it remains 53% below last year’s $16 level.
Binance US Launches INJ Staking for US Users
Injective’s price jumped this weekend because of real changes, not just speculation. On May 29, Binance US started INJ staking for US users, offering weekly rewards, flexible unstaking, and regulated yields. This encourages long-term holders and gradually removes tokens from circulation.
This matters because Binance.US is a leading American exchange and is part of Binance, the world’s largest and most popular crypto exchange.
Regulatory news also helped the bulls. The CFTC approved the first perpetual contract to be listed on a registered US exchange, which alone caused a nearly 20% jump. Injective has offered on-chain perpetuals since 2021, with over $70 billion in volume, and now Bitnomial lists those futures for institutions.
Injective’s fundamentals further back up the rally. It ranks 10th among layer-1s in on-chain revenue, earning $3.6 million over the past year, with the funds used for direct INJ token buybacks. Liquidity is also strong, as the 24-hour spot volume rose about 80% to $345.3 million on CMC, and futures volume reached $685.76 million, up 81%, with turnover close to 54% of its market cap.
