Crypto.com has announced a strategic partnership with Canary Capital to establish the Canary CRO Trust. The new trust was unveiled on May 16, 2025, and will provide qualified US investors with regulated exposure to CRO, the native token of the Crypto.com ecosystem.

This represents the first institutional-grade investment vehicle specifically designed for Crypto.com’s token, following Canary Capital’s successful launches of similar trusts for HBAR and AXL. This private, single-asset investment vehicle will allow accredited investors, wealth managers, and institutions to gain exposure to CRO without directly purchasing or managing the token.

The trust is timely because Crypto.com is experiencing significant growth. For instance, it recently made headlines with its partnership with Trump Media & Technology Group to support TMTG-branded ETFs, and USDC’s market cap reached a record high above $60 billion.

Canary Capital Builds on Successful Track Record

Since launching in October 2024 with the first US HBAR Trust debut, the firm has expanded its offerings. For instance, in February 2025, the Canary AXL Trust focused on blockchain interoperability.

It has established itself as a pioneer in offering safe, structured investing options that go beyond Ethereum and Bitcoin. With the inclusion of the CRO Trust, its products are now much more diversified.

The fund’s introduction comes at a good time because the US cryptocurrency regulatory landscape is still developing. This makes it possible to create increasingly complex financial products. It provides established financial institutions with a recognizable investment wrapper that adheres to current securities requirements.

The Canary CRO Trust targets accredited investors with a minimum investment threshold, although the specific amount is not yet available. The trust will handle custody, security, and regulatory compliance, enabling investors to gain exposure to CRO through traditional investment accounts.

While no immediate plans for a CRO ETF have been announced, creating a private trust is often regarded as a preliminary step in that direction.
