Cronos Coin (CRO) fell roughly 5% to $0.143 in the last 24 hours, continuing its week-long slide despite strong anticipation for the Smarturn v1.5.1 mainnet upgrade, scheduled for October 30, 2025.
The update will overhaul Cronos’s EVM runtime, introduce smart accounts, and enable IBC v2 cross-chain interoperability, yet the market seems to be consolidating rather than front-running the news.
Profit-Taking Hit Cronos Price Ahead of Smarturn v1.5.1 Upgrade
The Smarturn v1.5 upgrade, scheduled to be completed on October 20, will introduce faster 0.5s block times and advanced EVM capabilities, a major step for Cronos’ developer ecosystem. But for now, the market response has been muted.
At present, Cronos coin has seen mild exchange inflows and wallet activity spikes, suggesting short-term traders are locking in gains after an 85% year-to-date rally.
Altcoin sentiment is weak right now, adding to the pressure. CoinMarketCap’s Altcoin Season Index is at 30 out of 100. This shows that traders are still choosing Bitcoin and Ethereum, even though these major coins are also down today.
CRO Price Prediction: Weak Support at $0.138, Bears in Control
Technical charts indicate that Cronos Coin (CRO) is in a downtrend channel after failing to break through the $0.16 resistance. The daily chart has shown consistently lower highs since late September.

Cronos (CRO) faces resistance between $0.146 and $0.152, while immediate support sits around $0.138, aligning with its trendline and oblique minor support.
A drop below $0.138 might put the token at risk for more losses, possibly leading it back to the $0.12 range if selling activity increases or if Bitcoin remains stable above $110K, and if there isn’t a boost in altcoin flows.
TradingView’s oscillator summary also flashes a “strong sell”, with 15 sell vs. 1 buy across major indicators. The RSI at 32 confirms near-oversold conditions, yet momentum remains negative (MACD below zero, ADX above 40).
That said, the proximity to the support zone could spark a short-term technical bounce, especially if Cronos ecosystem tokens, like $OBS and $MCS, sustain liquidity inflows from active DeFi platforms.
