Binance has introduced a crypto QR code payment system in Argentina, enabling users to make instant transactions with more than 100 cryptocurrencies at any merchant that supports QR code payments.

How the Binance QR Payment System Works

With the new feature, users can pay directly from their Binance app by scanning a merchant’s existing QR code and selecting the desired cryptocurrency.

Supported assets include USDT, BTC, and many others, covering most major digital asset portfolios. Importantly, it requires no additional conversions; Binance handles automatic exchange to Argentine pesos at market rates. This ensures that merchants receive fiat without extra steps or technical knowledge.

Cryptocurrency payments allow users to avoid the difficulties of carrying depreciated local currency. Additionally, digital assets are increasingly recognised as a reliable alternative for everyday transactions. The solution allows businesses to grow their consumer base and facilitate seamless transactions. This is achieved by bridging the gap between digital assets and local money.

Crypto Payments’ Context in Argentina

Argentina’s economic volatility, marked by inflation rates above 120%, has driven greater adoption of alternative financial tools, including digital assets. QR code-based payments are part of everyday Argentine commerce, making the integration of crypto into this system especially impactful.

Binance’s QR system is viewed as an effort to mainstream crypto payments without requiring users or merchants to navigate technical complexity or regulatory uncertainty.

The company’s initiative coincides with a wider regional trend toward crypto-powered, fee-free commerce tools, particularly in Latin America’s dynamic retail sectors. As of launch, QR crypto payments are live for all Binance users in Argentina, available for daily spending in pesos after automatic conversion.
