  • Use cases are proof of reputation, regulatory-compliant DeFi, Sybil resistance
  • Verida enables users to share details or prove their identity without revealing personal data

Polygon ID and Verida Wallet announced an integration, with which Verida becomes the first mobile crypto wallet to support Polygon ID zero-knowledge credentials, Bankless Times learned from a press release. Users of the wallet can preserve their privacy while accessing assets on Polygon’s blockchain and managing digital identities.

Enabling a new generation of dApps

The partnership between Verida and Polygon ID will enable a new generation of dApps in DAOs, DeFi, and GameFi to use real-world identity and personal reputation safely. Among the initial use cases are proof of reputation, regulatory-compliant DeFi, Sybil resistance, community role based access, etc.

Another use case is proving real-world assets, such as accessing DeFi loans with little collateral by verifying monthly income.

Verida Network secures Polygon ID credentials. It is the world’s flagship self-sovereign data network customized for Web3. Only the user can access or delete his encrypted credentials via his private key. The credentials are held on the user's device on region-aware storage nodes.

Sebastian Rodriguez, VP of Product at Polygon ID, commented:

Polygon ID envisions a marketplace for credentials where it is easier to create trusted relationships between users and applications. Verida's seamless user experience is essential to create self-sovereign trusted identities and we are very excited to have them in our ecosystem. Together, we are shaping the future of trusted identities and fostering a more secure digital landscape for everyone.

Verida provides ID and encrypted data management

The Verida Wallet enables users to share details or prove their identity without revealing any needless personal data. It also offers a secure inbox, ID management, and encrypted data management among other advanced features.

Verida CEO and Co-Founder Chris Were said:

With the growing importance of online privacy, individuals must control their personal data and digital identities. We need efficient verification processes that safeguard against impersonation without exposing sensitive information, and that's exactly what this collaboration with Polygon ID provides.
