JASMY, often referred to as “Japan’s Bitcoin,” has made a significant move toward multi-chain operability. The IoT-focused cryptocurrency project announced its adoption of the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard on March 13, 2025.

This adoption will enable direct transfers between Ethereum and Base networks through Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability (CCIP). This development signifies an expansion for the $600 million+ market cap token as it aims to enhance its utility across multiple blockchain environments.

JASMY Integration and Technical Framework

JasmyCoin (JASMY), launched in October 2021, was created by former Sony executives. It is a cryptocurrency focused on democratizing data through blockchain and IoT technology.

The project aims to give users control over their personal data, and it has enhanced its technical capabilities by implementing Chainlink’s CCIP infrastructure. According to the official announcement via JASMY’s Medium blog, the integration allows the ERC-20 token to move seamlessly between Ethereum’s mainnet and Base.

This capability addresses the challenge of fragmentation of liquidity and utility across different blockchain networks. JASMY token holders can now transfer their assets without relying on traditional bridging methods. The traditional method often involves additional security risks.

This technical framework is an important advancement for the JASMY ecosystem. The token previously operated primarily within the Ethereum network. As of March 2025, JasmyCoin trades at approximately $0.0129 across major exchanges.

JASMY’s Layer 2 Solution Adopts CCIP

Beyond the token’s new cross-chain capabilities, JASMY’s ecosystem will adopt CCIP as its primary cross-chain infrastructure through Janction. Janction MGT is a layer 2 solution developed by the JASMY community.

This adoption shows a growing trend in the blockchain industry. Specialized layer 2 solutions address specific use cases while maintaining connections to established networks. For JASMY, this expansion could enable more efficient processing of the high-volume data streams common in IoT applications.

This implementation of cross-chain functionality comes at a time when JASMY is experiencing price volatility. According to data, JASMY’s price has decreased by 42.59% over the past month and 37.07% in the last year. However, the token maintains a good place in the market, ranking among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

The cross-chain expansion will open new avenues for its token utility. JASMY can tap into different DeFi ecosystems by operating across multiple networks, potentially increasing liquidity and use cases.
