The Crypto Valley Association launched this week, with the goal of helping the development of blockchain and cryptographic-related technologies and businesses.

Based in Zug, Switzerland, the Crypto Valley Association includes UBS, PwC, Thomson Reuters, Luxoft, Canton of Zug, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and ConsenSys. It is an independent, government-supported association created to support startups and established companies via policy recommendations, the initiation and enabling of research projects, and the organization of conferences and other events.

The executive consists of president Oliver Bussmann (Bussmann Advisory), vice president Vasily Suvorov (Luxoft), and treasurer René Huesler (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts).

“Blockchain and cryptographic related technologies and businesses are the wave of the future,” Mr. Bussmann said. “With the founding of Crypto Valley Association, we are promoting more than a region: we have founded a global association as a base for the sector’s most innovative and forward thinking companies, further strengthening Switzerland’s position as a leading centre of innovation in this sector.”
