Beldex, the leading privacy advocate, is advancing free speech and human rights by launching its private, decentralized application BChat, an app that can be used to send truly private messages.

BChat, unlike other crypto apps, does not collect your personal information, Bankless Times learned from a press release.

Users connect via cryptographically generated ID

BChat is built over the Beldex blockchain. Messages sent on BChat are routed through the master nodes that power the Beldex network. BChat doesn’t use phone numbers or email addresses, instead, users can connect with each other using a cryptographically generated ID called the BChat ID.

Afanddy Bin Hushni, Chairman and CEO of Beldex, said:

Privacy is becoming a significant concern on the current iteration of the web. Everybody should be able to choose privacy. But companies today trade user privacy for profitability. Users have become their product as they only offer conditional privacy. That’s why we build decentralized Web3 applications like BChat that are trustless and offer default privacy. On BChat, users own their data.

Audited by Certik

Prior to BChat’s launch, Beldex was audited by the leading blockchain auditing firm, Certik, to ensure the security and privacy of applications built on top of the network.

The developers of BChat, in an AMA with the Certik team said that they seek to “solve the problem of privacy and scalability in Web3.”

Previous milestones

BChat is the second user-facing dApp to be launched by the Beldex team. The Beldex wallet (compatible with iOS, android, and desktop devices) launched in 2021 is used to send and receive BDX and set up master nodes.

Other dApps under development include the BelNet decentralized VPN service, the Beldex browser, an ad-free private browser, and the Beldex privacy protocol, a dApp that can be used to anonymize cross-blockchain asset transfers.

Codeman, the pseudonymous CTO of Beldex, said:

We’re building the applications of tomorrow. There are two major obstacles that prevent Web3 applications from going mainstream. These are scalability and user-friendliness. We’re researching zk-SNARKs to improve both scalability and anonymity of the transactions on the Beldex network while developing private applications that provide an unparalleled user experience.

Live on June 29

BChat will be live on the PlayStore and AppStore at 09:30 PM UTC on June 29, 2022. A desktop version of the app is currently under development.

The app has an easy to use interface and an integrated wallet. BChat launches along with an airdrop contest that rewards users for downloading and using the app.

Decentralization of master nodes

BChat will soon add additional features that will allow users to use BDX within the app. Decentralization and diversification of master nodes is key to the app’s seamless functioning. As of press time, the Beldex network has 671 master nodes distributed across the EMEA and the Americas.
