Hi. My name is Uri, and I’m addicted to fighting Cybercrime. It’s been 12 years since I was doing something else (can’t remember what it was).
It all started at Cyota, the anti-fraud company that was later acquired by RSA. I joined in 2000 and spent years working closely with the best fraud teams worldwide, gaining deep perspective on Cybercrime, thinking of innovative solutions and building them. I was lucky to take a central role in developing technologies now used by thousands of financial institutions, protecting roughly one billion online banking users, and stopping billions of dollars in fraud each year.
As Head of New Technologies, Identity Protection at RSA I helped corporations shape a new defense doctrine against emerging cyber threats. I write a cybersecurity blog and speak in many international conferences.
During my 12th year at RSA I came across an intriguing new startup called BioCatch, an invisible biometrics company for mobile and web. It has a very cool "twist" to behavioral biometrics. My first reaction to hearing what BioCatch does was a ‘this is so clever’ grin. My second reaction was ‘wow, if this actually works, it's game-changing stuff.’
It actually works.
So here I am, doing once more what I like best: working with the world’s leading banks and corporations on mitigating advanced cyber threats. Enjoying the thrill of an early stage startup that can finally bring practical biometrics to the world of mobile, cloud and web.
Specialties: I'm passionate about developing solutions for fraud and cybercrime mitigation.
