Kickstarter CEO Yancey Strickler issued a formal apology Saturday afternoon for a data breach that occurred on Wednesday.

Strickler said only email addresses were affected by the breach and that no financial information was compromised.

Kickstarter were informed of the hacking by law enforcement officials and Strickler said his company acted quickly to close the breach.
