GRAVITY, the newest project from the Economic Space Agency is bringing together experts to discuss a “post-blockchain” future in San Francisco’s Alamo Square district on July 3 beginning at 6 pm.
Panelists will discuss how the blockchain can improve its support of both privacy and security. One promising avenue, object-capabilities, will be discussed. They are backed by a secure computational model that could give token holders the safe ability to perform operations in a scalable distributed system which supports privacy.
The panel will be moderated by Michael Casey, who works at MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative. A co-author, along with former Wall Street Journal colleague Paul Vigna, of The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and the Blockchain Are Challenging the Global Economic Order, Mr. Casey worked at the WSJ for almost 20 years.

Mark S. Miller: The Foresight Institute’s senior fellow, Mr. Miller is a computer scientist known for his work on the 1979 hypertext project Project Xanadu.
Zooko Wilcox: The cofounder and CEO of privacy-focused cryptocurrency Zcash, Mr. Wilcox has played significant roles in projects like DigiCash and has more than 20 years of experience in cryptocurrency, information security and startups.
Brian Warner: Mr. Warner is a cofounder of Tahoe-LAFS, a free, decentralized, distributed data store and file system.
Jorge Lopez: The CTO of the Economic Space Agency, Mr. Lopez is all GRAVITY’s lead architect. He has more than 15 years of experience developing web applications and has been a consultant in fintech, cryptocurrency and smart contracts.
