After being on hiatus for two years, Rolling Stone, the highly influential US magazine dedicated to music, politics, and popular culture has announced the return of Rolling Stone Live. This event marks the company’s first collaboration with Coinbase, the biggest crypto exchange in the US.

Exclusive drop of NFT collection from 12 digital artists

The two firms will also be dropping an exclusive collection of non-fungible tokens, Bitcoin.com reported. It will feature 12 digital artists in the blockchain space. The magazine reports that the artists were also tasked with creating NFTs that display the Rolling Stone logo.

These artists include Boss Beauties, Kideight, Deadfellaz, Elise Swopes, Mikegrillmadeit, Markthehabibi, Alida Sun, Jeff Manning, Domino, Giant Swan, Mister Goldie, and Emonee LaRussa.

Artwork to be animated before selling

According to Rolling Stone, the event marks the start of an ongoing partnership between the magazine and the exchange. The artwork will be animated before being sold later this year. It will be available for purchase on Coinbase’s NFT marketplace.

The magazine’s announcement further states:

The limited release will offer fans an extraordinary chance to own a piece of history created by some of the crypto space’s most influential digital artists.

Lisa Mayer, CEO and founder of Boss Beauties, said her team was very excited to contribute to the exclusive collection of NFTs. She commented Rolling Stone’s announcement on February 3 as follows:

Having the opportunity to collaborate with an iconic brand like Rolling Stone and an innovative company like Coinbase has been so inspiring. We’re honored to be included alongside so many other notable creators and are excited to see how it all comes together.

Rolling Stone headed for a unique live edition this year

This year, Rolling Stone Live (Rslive2022) will feature performances by some of today’s biggest stars during the biggest weekend in sports. The brand marks a decade of hosting this special event during Big Game weekend.

There will be performances by Iann Dior, Kaskade, Tinashe, and a DJ set by Lil Jon. Prior to Rslive2022, Twitch and Doordash will collaborate with Rolling Stone to host studio sessions on site.

The Rslive2022 logo indicates Coinbase is presenting the event on February 12 this year. The official start is on Sunday, February 13 at 10:00 PM until 3:00 AM. Tickets start at $750.

A tradition for Rolling Stone

This is not the magazine’s first NFT experiment. Last year, they partnered with the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT project to issue a special collector’s edition zine.
